You don’t have to be into the plant science to be able to find botanical gardens interesting. Such places are great for spending a relaxing day outside, to learn something new while being surrounded by gorgeous nature. Also its good for your soul!
Relaxing Day Out
The idea of visiting Phuket Botanic Garden was very random. I just felt like having a very relaxing day but wasn’t feeling like staying home. The weather was great, so I thought a park like this would be the perfect location for a day out.
On our arrival, we had to buy tickets which were 500 baht each. At first, we were surprised by this amount as we didn’t know what to expect inside. As soon as we walked into the gardens, we realised how beautiful the place was and how it was worth that amount for the entrance fee.
The gardens were very well looked after and nicely designed. We were there during the hottest part of the day which I think made the experience a little bit harder as we just got too hot at about halfway through. We had to rush to the end of the park to find the cafe where we had some refreshing drinks. After a little break, we got back to where we stopped to continue exploring the Thai nature.
If you are planning on going to this park, I better recommend that you to go on a sunny day as it is less likely you will be bitten by mosquitoes. Also, don’t forget insect repellent and sunblock. The park has a lot of parts with shades and covers, so if you come all prepared you will be able to enjoy more time there.
In the park, you will find a wide variety of different gardens. If you are really into the botany this place will get your attention, so allow more time. Also, you will get to learn a little bit of Thai history and agriculture.
It would be tough to describe the beauty of that place in words, that’s why I have included a little video of our afternoon in the gardens. It only shows a small part of this beautiful place, but it will give you the right idea of what to expect.
