Drinking water is one of the first rules for staying healthy. But did you know that it also matters what kind of water you are drinking?
It shouldn’t come as a surprise for you to find out that your tap water is full of chlorine, metals and antibiotics. By drinking it, we create an unhealthy acidic environment in our bodies. There are several ways you can deal with this problem.
First, you need to make sure that you and your family drink pure water. To achieve that you will need to invest in a good quality water filter. All the bottled water that’s available at the supermarkets is ready to drink as it has been through different stages of filtering, but to avoid polluting our planet with more unnecessary plastic, I recommend to invest in a reverse osmosis water filter to be installed in your house.
Secondly, you can start incorporating more alkaline water into your diet. To be able to do that you can purchase an alkalizing water system for your home or buy pre-made alkalized water from the health shops and supermarkets. Personally, I like to stay on a more natural end, so I like to make alkaline water at home using lemons and other ingredients. Plus this homemade elixir will help you to detoxify your body by eliminating toxins out of your system.
Why do we need to stay alkaline?
The terms «alkaline» or «acidic» refer to the pH level. The potential hydrogen (pH) measured from 0 to 14 with 7 being neutral. Less than that is acidic and more than that is alkaline. To stay in good health, our bodies need to stay in a slightly alkaline state, but if you drink too much of alkaline water, it can disrupt the acid within your stomach which helps to fight bacteria. To order to keep your body in a more alkaline state naturally, it’s essential to drink water with a balanced pH mostly, eat fresh vegetables and stay stress-free. Although if you are suffering from some illnesses, alkaline water can help to eliminate them as most likely they were caused by an acidic environment of your body.
How to make detoxifying alkaline water?
It is straightforward. You will need four ingredients:
1/2 CUP MINT LEAVES
Peel off the skin of the ginger. Slice up all the ingredients. Add filtered water. Leave overnight.
Drink first thing in the morning and continue drinking it during the day.
This water will soak up all the water-soluble vitamins and minerals, so consider it as a bonus, than just drinking pre-made alkaline water.
This refreshing drink has high detoxifying and weight-loss properties so that I wouldn’t recommend it for drinking during your meal.
